About cordclamping.org

cordclamping.org is created and maintained by me, Ola Andersson. As an pediatrician, the subject of cord clamping got my attention about 2002-2003 when my wife, who is a midwife, told me that they were changing routine from delayed to early cord clamping on the OB department where she was working.

Since 2006 I have, in close cooperation with other pediatricians, obstetricians, midwives and nurses, conducted research on cord clamping resulting in several papers and also my thesis for a Ph.D.

When searching for information on cord clamping on the web, it is easy to find that a lot of information is rather guesses, presumptions and rumours, than facts based on research, the result of thourough reading of studies or at least long experience of child birth. Both web pages that are pro delayed cord clamping, and those that are sceptical may contain a blend of facts and fiction.

On cordclamping.org I'll try my very best to keep to evidence-based facts, and if not, give account for my opinion or interpretation.
